Winter Sundance Engagement with Ravyn & Josh

by Utah Wedding Photographers JamesErickPhotographyUtah

Finally winter is here for a while and the winter Sundance engagement with Ravyn & Josh was perfect! Yes, it was cold, but not to cold, about 50 degrees, which is actually warm for this area this time of year. Ravyn had actually wanted to do the engagement session at the Utah State Capitol, but due to the heavy volume of traffic this time of year when the legislature is in session, it would have made it difficult to get pictures without anybody in the background.

Every time I go to shoot and engagement session here at Sundance, I seem to find new places to go. Its a pretty large area, and the snow can really slow things down, but there is always something new to use in the background. I really depends on how far up the roads the couple wants to walk, and if they are prepared to walk in the snow.

This time we walked a little further up the path to a wooden fence with huge pine trees in the background. It was a narrow and slippery path, and Ravyn & Josh did there best in their dress shoes to not fall while going up a couple steep slopes. And if walking up was a challenge, walking down was even more challenging. But Ravyn & Josh did great and did not complain even once. They were both a lot of fun to photograph and work with and I look forward to shooting their wedding.

The pictures above are just a few of my favorites from the winter Sundance engagement with Ravyn & Josh.
