As a Utah Wedding Photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless love stories against the stunning backdrops of this beautiful state. But there’s something truly special about fall in the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway, especially on a sunny day when the aspen trees shimmer in golden hues. Maritza and Ryan’s engagement session was nothing short of magical, filled with vibrant colors, heartfelt moments, and the undeniable connection they share.
Maritza looked stunning in a light blue dress that flowed effortlessly in the breeze, adding a touch of elegance to the natural surroundings. Ryan’s blue, white, and gray plaid long-sleeve shirt and light blue jeans perfectly complemented her look, creating a harmonious blend with the landscape. Together, they radiated joy and love, making every frame come alive.
This session marked my third visit to the Alpine Loop in as many days, and it continues to amaze me. Just two miles past Aspen Grove, I discovered a new hidden gem—a small pullout leading to a sparse aspen forest blanketed in vibrant yellow ferns. This location felt like stepping into a fairytale, with golden foliage cascading around us. It was here that Maritza and Ryan immersed themselves in the moment, effortlessly posing amidst the ferns. Their ease and natural chemistry made my job as their Utah Wedding Photographer feel almost effortless. All I had to do was capture them as they were—completely themselves, in love, and at ease in the beauty of the moment.
From there, we moved to one of my favorite locations just up the road: a serene cement road flanked by tall, golden aspen trees. As Maritza and Ryan strolled hand in hand, their laughter filled the crisp autumn air. This scene felt like it was lifted from the pages of a romantic novel, with the couple’s vibrant energy perfectly complementing the vibrant scenery around them. Every step they took down that road felt like a journey through their love story, and I was lucky to document it.
We ended the session at a small pullout on the canyon wall. Here, the rugged cliffs provided a dramatic backdrop to the couple’s softer, tender moments. One of my favorite shots was of Ryan taking Maritza’s hand and gently kissing it, a gesture so full of love and sincerity that it spoke volumes without words.
