Shylee & Parker's Little Sahara Engagement was done on a lot better day than the last time I was here. Last time the wind was blowing a sustained 60MPH and we were getting pelted with sand and dust while trying to do a chalk fight. Today the winds were calm. The sky blue, and we even got some beautiful clouds to diffuse the sunset.
Shooting at Little Sahara State Recreation area as it is called can be challenging. Some days it is over 100 degrees and the sand is really hot. On some days, like the previous session, it is really windy. If you go to late or early in the year, the sand is wet and there are tracks from off-roaders and animals all over the place. If you go on a cloudy day, the sand looks dull and there is no contrast between the sky and ground. So there are a lot of things that could make Little Sahara a not so great place to do a photoshoot. Today was not one of those days.
Today Shylee and Parker and I had a great time in the warm late afternoon sun. I told Shylee to just be playful, Be herself. So Shylee and Parker kicked sand, ran in the sand, and had romantic walks into the sunset. At one point, Shylee even took off her shoes and just did the rest of the photoshoot barefoot, something you cant do very many places in Utah.
