Shooting Katie’s Spring Bridals at Gardner Village by Utah Wedding Photographers James Erick Photography Utah was a unique location choice, but lots of fun. Gardner Village is not your typical Bridal shoot location. It’s really an outdoor shopping area that used to be a farm a long time ago. But the owners have fixed it up to look like an old wester town from the 1800’s.
There are shops, a stream running through it with a long, covered bridge over it. There is a large barn like farmhouse, Ivy covered walls, a restaurant, train shop, candy shop, reception center, and much more. They decorate the village depending on the time of year, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. There is an old truck that makes a nice prop, and many other unique structures. During Halloween, there are pumpkins and Halloween decorations all over, and they do contests, face painting, and a Halloween costume contest.
The only issue with shooting there is that there are usually a lot of people through the village, making trying to get a picture without somebody in the background a challenge. So, you have to wait many times to get the location you want cleared of people.
But today there were not a lot of people, and the Spring Blossoms were still scattered throughout the village. Katie was a lot of fun to work with and looked beautiful in her stunning dress. We walked all over Gardner Village, across the bridge, to the vintage truck, and to many more places getting some great shots. My favorite was sunset at the vintage truck. I like taking sunburst pictures and this was the perfect place to do it.
