Mary & Skyler's Smith Ditch Hill Engagements was actually a combination of locations, including Smith Ditch Hill(a terrible name for an amazingly beautiful area), Squaw Peak, and Rock Canyon Overlook.
Summer is here and the yellow wildflowers are finally out. There are mountain tops covered with them, and the sky was so blue today it would hurt your eyes to look at it. The air was warm, but not hot. And no wind, which is a great thing when your taking pictures of people.
The height variation between people makes a difference when shooting people. Its easies to shoot people where the girl is 4-5 inches shorter than the guy. But that is rare and in this case even with her high heels, Mary was considerably smaller that Skyler. But heels were not the best thing to wear when climbing rocks or mountains, but Mary was a trooper and seemed to do great in her heels.
The last and most difficult place we shot was the Rock Canyon Overlook. Its a rocky, narrow ledge that just out from the side of the mountain with beautiful views in about 180 degrees. But its trick to walk on so Skyler was great at helping mare to make sure Mary did not fall.
Mary and Skyler were great to work with, and both very easy to take pictures of. I look forward to shooting their Bride & groom session and their wedding.
