Summer at Silver Lake in AF Canyon

Silver Lake in American Fork Canyon is a 35 minute drive up a rough road from Tibble Fork Reservoir, then a 1.5 hour hike up the mountain from Silver Lake Flats.

Silver Lake is a hidden gem nestled within the pristine wilderness of the Wasatch Mountains. Situated at an elevation of approximately 8,700 feet, this tranquil alpine lake offers visitors a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Surrounded by towering pine and fir trees, Silver Lake boasts crystal-clear waters that reflect the rugged beauty of its surroundings. The lake serves as a mirror, capturing the majestic peaks, lush meadows, and rocky cliffs that frame its shoreline.

Visitors can explore the area via a network of hiking trails that wind through the forest and along the lake's edge, providing opportunities for leisurely strolls, birdwatching, and wildlife spotting. During the summer months, the lake becomes a popular destination for fishing, paddleboarding, and picnicking, offering a peaceful retreat for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

As autumn sets in, Silver Lake transforms into a kaleidoscope of colors, with vibrant hues of gold, orange, and red painting the surrounding foliage. The crisp mountain air and breathtaking scenery make it an ideal spot for capturing the beauty of fall foliage through photography or simply soaking in the tranquility of nature.
