Silver Lake Engagement
By Utah Wedding Photographers James Erick Photography Utah
I like different, don't get me wrong. But when Jill & Bruce asked me to do their Silver Lake Engagement in December, I thought, is she crazy! I said, you do know it will be about 12 degrees and snowing...Jill said ya, I know. Well what can you say to that? So off we went into a blinding snow storm, and one of the most fun engagement sessions I have ever shot.
Most of the year Sliver Lake, located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, is a beautiful place to shoot. So much so that there are usually about 3 or 4 photographers on any given day shooting there. The beautiful lake surrounded by pine trees makes for a perfect backdrop. But in the winter, the lake freezes over and gets covered in snow, and the temperature drops dramatically. And From late February to Early April, its closed for Nordic ski events.
Jill & Bruce are very non-serious types people. They laughed and joked around with each other and with me the entire shoot. They even made snow angels and had a serious snowball fight before the end of the shoot. All I can say is that if their relationship is carried forward to their marriage, they will be together forever. Never have I seen two people more meant for each other than Jill & Bruce.
