Spring McPolin Farm Bridals with Sarah

You can’t ask for more than a Swaner Farm bridal shoot. Sarah made the perfect bride for a late afternoon shoot at the White Barn in park city. Accompanied by her Mother in Law and friend, Sara wore an elegant dress from David’s Bridal. She truly did look like Alice in wonderland as we walked through fields, down winding paths through aspen tree groves, trudged through the forest and finally ended up on the railing of a bridge.
One of the more difficult parts of the shoot was getting Sarah over a small stream without getting her wet. When you have a puffy dress, you can’t really see where your stepping. So mother in law on one side, me on the other, and her friend holding the dress, we crossed without incident over the stream, through the opening in the fence, and through the brush to the fence.
As we were walking down the path trying to catch the last minutes of the sun, we decided to wait for a lady on a bike with two small dogs. It proved to not be a good decision as one of the dogs was afraid of us and decided not to move. So the lady called and called the dog, and finally I went around and behind it and tied to scare it into going. and after a lot of coaxing it finally passed us.
So after the dog fiasco we reached a small opening in the forest trees and Sarah in her beautiful high heels walked through sticks, thorns and brush to get to a beautiful spot. We did a few shots there then raced to the fence following the setting sun. we just got there in enough time to get a few backlit shots, one of my favorites being the close-up of the dress and flowers with the sun shining off the barbed wire in the background.
